It was an expensive trip.
Buying food, toys and catnip.
Each must be the very best
For Gizmo our new four-pawed guest.

We chose toys with special care
For our Rex with limited hair.
They were ours much more than his
We couldn't wait to play with 'Giz'.
Home we went and quickly too,
Toys and kitten - both brand new.
You can't imagine our surprise
Once we'd stored away the supplies.
We tore open a lifelike mouse,
To be chased throughout the house.
We could've taken the toys back
Gizmo had fallen in love with the sack.
