    Type and characteristics

    Body, legs and feet

Medium  sized body, compact, muscled, good  bone structure, broad chested, powerful looking cat.  Males slightly larger than females. Back legs are considerably longer than the front ones, which gives rise to their typical, unusual rabbit-like  gait.

    Head

The head is medium in  length and round head with prominent cheeks . Well developed muzzle with a strong chin and  whiskers break with large, round whisker pads. Short, thick neck.

    Eyes

The eyes are large and full. The ideal eye color should conform to the color of the coat.

    Ears

The ears are medium in size in good proportion to the head and wide at the base, tapering gradually to a rounded tip

    Tail

The classic rumpy Manx has  no vestige of a tail and has a rump that stands higher than the shoulders.

    Coat

The coat is accepted in any color or combination of colors, is thick and needs extra grooming.

    Temperament

In character and temperament the Manx makes a most delightful pet.
